Sad to hear that Gina Savery, Roy's wife, died on the 11 September at the aged on 79. Recently she had been battling throat cancer and succumbed to a stroke. Our thoughts and prayers are with Roy and James.  13-09-24

 

Sad to report that one on our oldest members, Ted McDonald, passed away on 10 August aged almost 92. For many years Ted lived in South Africa with his wife Judi. He had suffered bad health for some time. 16-08-24

Reseed are working to create sustainable livelihoods and employment for people in Sierra Leone, and the De Laune CC are supporting them with donations and kit.

Reseed Sierra Leone is a locally registered charity that is committed to supporting local communities in Lunsar and the surrounding chiefdoms. They are the core implementer of Reseed’s livelihoods programmes. Core to Reseed’s programme success and lasting positive impact, our project design and implementation stands on the foundation of the knowledge and expertise of the Sierra Leonean team.  12-02-24

The De Laune Cycling Club is proud to be one of the oldest cycling clubs in the country; with a history covering three centuries (well almost!) - we were founded in 1889.  Based in the south-east of London we have around 100 members. 

 

A mixed club with a wide range of abilities, activities and ages.  After several years at the  Streatham & Marlborough Cricket Club we are now back 'home' at Herne Hill Velodrome... More details and photos here...

 

We are involved with all levels of racing - Time-Trials, Track, Off-Road, Road/Circuit, Triathlons and Rollers; as well as Sunday Club Runs and many social functions.  The Club is affiliated to all of the leading cycling associations.

 

We welcome new members - membership is Free to under 18's.....
