Kav has gone electric !

In my 60 years with the club I have taken 6 or 7 club records. I
now have another one. I am the first male member to get an electric bike (I
know that little Pat Brown got one last year) but I am the first male.

I am asked ‘how are you getting on with the electric bike ?’. Well, I have had a
few problems. When you push the pedal from start you get pushed up to 10
mph in no time. When I wanted to turn right at a junction I ended up in the
bushes opposite.

I was overtaken by two
young lads doing bit and
bit at about 20 mph. I
decided to catch them up
and overtake them. Wrong KAV
thing to do! When I got up
to 15 mph the electric
motor is designed to stop
working so I am pushing a
heavy bike with no power.

Out with a group last Saturday I punctured my rear tyre. I was only 200
yards from my car so I decided to put the bike in the back of the car and
repair it later. Wrong! It took me two hours to get the wheel out and I now
cannot get it back and I seem to have a lot of spare bits!

I have attached a photo of the electric group. If you see me pass you on the
road just call me sparkles.

You can’t keep this man in, rumour has it that he
has already put his name down for his next mode
of transport a Mobility Scooter so watch out on
the pavements when he gets it. Ed.
