Some 30+ members gathered at the 3 Horseshoes Inn at Knockholt for
a scrumptuous lunch on 27 th October. No one rode on there on the bike as
it was a bright but bitterly cold day. However the banter and noisy chatting
soon put paid to the weather outside.

Fortunately all our trophy winners were present and we were able to
clear the table of cups etc. Unfortunately David Haggart and Debbie &
Mick Valentine were absent and unable to collect their hard earned medals.
Not sure what happened to David but Debbie and Mick were hoping to cheer
on the riders of the National Hillclimb. They booked and paid for local
accommodation only to have the event moved 130 miles away – so they
decided to go anyway. All their medals were collected from our President
Bill Wright by Gary Birch !! We are trying to get him used to collecting
awards again like days of old.

Other award/medal winners were:

Malc Adams for 2 nd on standard and scratch in the OMA 10.

Chris Gordon-Coker took the JEF Butcher trophy and medal as fastest on
standard in the OMA 10 together with the Dot & Ken Fuller 25 th Anniversary
trophy for fastest on scratch.

Steve Carter-Smith collected the De Laune Challenge Bowl for fastest rider
in the
Championship 25.

Much to his surprise Mike Peel was awarded the Silverdale How Shield for
his services to the Club regarding the website over many years. He
eloquently accepted the award but, reinforced that he enjoys what he does
for the club and was most surprised to be awarded such a prestigious award.
The presentation was undertaken by Malc Adams.

To round off the presentations Pat (& Len) was pleased to receive a
bouquet of flowers for all the hard work involved in organising the whole
function.
