Hello to all De Laune members who remember me.

I am writing to you all, as apart from our ‘Super Vets’ who are doing brilliantly,
people from my era (70’s) and particularly those from the 50’s and 60’s
must be very frustrated that from afar we have no up and coming youngsters
to follow on the racing scene.

Those three decades produced some excellent riders that kept us all
motivated and kept us very interested in the racing as we always had
someone performing well somewhere, be it road, track, time trials or cross.
As we have this void at the moment I hope some of you would like to follow a
bit of De Laune glory through the ‘back door’.

My son Paul has gained a place on Flavio Zappi’s under 23 development squad
and will be racing on the continent next year, mainly in Italy. He has started
writing ‘blogs’ since signing and I I hope some of you may like to follow his
progress. I am under no illusion as to how hard it will be, but he is training
hard and we just hope the results will follow. Whatever the outcome it was
an opportunity that he could not miss. I met Flavio at the team presentation
and was really impressed by his energy and enthusiasm for his squad. Some
people say he is too ‘old school’ in his ways but that goes down well with me
and boy does he make them work!.

You can follow his blogs and hopefully put some encouraging remarks on his
page by finding him on Facebook, Twitter and WordPress.

I’m not great at these media sites but I managed to find him ok, or just type
in Paul Double racing cyclist and that should do it as well.
I think this is the proper link:-

Hope this is of interest to some of you.
Kind Regards and Merry Christmas to you all.
Len Double.
